Memorandums of Understanding

 

MoU with Uttarakhand Space Application Center (USAC), Uttarakhand

On 23rd October 2015, an MoU was signed with Uttarakhand Space Application Center, Cooperative activities may involve programs related to research, teaching and outreach. Will get funding support and will also organize joint conference and seminars. R&D collaboration will be there in field of space applications and Summer internship will be provided for the students of Avionics/Aerospace Engineering.  

MoU with The University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa

On the 20th of October 2015, an MoU was signed with the  University of the Witwatersrand,  South Africa for scientific and technological cooperation. Commonly known as ‘Wits University’, it is the third oldest South African university in operation, and the third highest South African entry in the QS University Rankings. Within the framework of the agreement,  researchers from both the universities can submit joint research proposals, exchange visits of students, faculties as per funding agency norms including the possibilities of joint research consultation to the industry.

MoU with Barola Aerosports, Chennai

Barola Aerosports had agreed to bridge the gap between Corporate and Academia by signing an MoU on the 1st of September, 2015. They will provide on-site training to students of UPES on high-end technologies which are commonly used in industry through workshop(s) and course(s).

MoU with Milkotech Equipments, Ahmedabad 

An MoU was signed on the 17th August 2015 between UPES and Milkotech Equipment for providing trailing opportunities to the faculty of UPES, internships to the students of UPES, on-site training and joint collaborative research projects between the researchers of UPES and the engineers of Milkotech.

MoU with Venza Water Management Solutions , New Delhi 

On the 1st of July 2015, an MoU was signed between UPES and Venza Water Management Solutions for providing internship opportunities to the engineering students of UPES combined with on-site training of students and faculty members on high-end technologies used in their plant. 

MoU with Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL-R&D), Faridabad

Recently, a MoU was signed with Indian Oil Corporation Limited and they have agreed to collaborate for promotion of education, research and innovation with UPES. Under this scheme, Ph.D.  and M. Tech. students can carry out their research /project work  at IOCL/UPES. This is an ideal platform for students who are interested to register for PhD at UPES for undertaking research work primarily at IOCL under an identified project (“IndianOil Research Fellow”). This was signed on the on the 31st of March, 2014.

MoU with CSIR-Central Electronics Engineering Research Institute-Pilani

A MoU was signed with CSIR-Central Electronics Engineering Research Institute on the 3rd of March, 2014. UPES and CEERI have agreed to undertake joint sponsored research projects  in the areas of MEMS, Microfluidics, Power Electronics and Embedded Systems. Both have also agreed for exchange visits of staffs and students to utilize their facilities and do research work. Student Training and Conference Organization has also been agreed upon on mutual terms.

MoU with National Research Development Council (NRDC)-New Delhi

This MoU was signed during the Innovate India 2014 Event at our Campus i.e. on the 27th of February, 2014. This was to recognize the respective strengths of the two organizations and accordingly agree to cooperate in the development of technologies and their successful transfer to industry for commercial exploitation and socio economic benefits.

MoU with Clarion University, PA, USA 

This MoU was signed on the 13th of February, 2014 to establish certain exchange programs to benefit the respective educational institutions and to promote the development of joint studies, research and training activities, and other educational programs of mutual interest.

MoU with CSIR-Central Buildings Research Institute-Roorkee

UPES signed an MoU with CSIR-Central Buildings Research Institute on the 11th of February, 2014 to club the efforts of both the organizations for promoting excellent quality manpower in the fields of Civil Engineering, Building Science and Engineering Geology by the sharing of training and research facilities and coordinating technical research training programs. 

MoU with University of Central Florida, FL,USA      

University of Central Florida signed an MoU with UPES on the 20th of January, 2014 to promote and support teaching, research and community outreach activities based on the primary importance of fulfilling their missions and goals. This was also to increase the opportunities for international cooperation and exchange to enhance cultural understanding and appreciation.

MoU with Abellon CleanEnergy Limited

Dr. Beena Patel, Sr. General Manager, Abellon Clean Energy Ltd was on campus on Tuesday, 3rd December 2013. During her visit, she gave an extensive presentation on the ongoing Research and developmental activities at Abellon and thereafter signed an MoU to establish collaborative research work with UPES.

MoU Extension with IOCL

 

IOCL and UPES have agreed to collaborate for promotion of education, research and innovation with a formal extension of their existing MoU. Under this scheme, Ph.D.  and M. Tech. students can carry out their research /project work  at IOCL/UPES. This is an ideal platform for students who are interested to register for PhD at UPES for undertaking research work primarily at IOCL under an identified project (“IndianOil Research Fellow”). To make IndianOil Research fellow scheme attractive for students, IOCL intends to pay an incremental monthly fellowship which will be more than the standard CSIR/UGC fellowships at both JRF and SRF levels. This scheme also provides an opportunity to M. Tech. Students (“IndianOil M.Tech. Fellow”) enrolled at UPES to carry out their major project work (not less than 1 year duration) primarily at IOCL on an identified topic/area of mutual interest.

MoU with Larsen and Toubro (Integrated Engineering Services)

UPES and L&T have agreed to collaborate for promotion of education, research and innovation in the areas of (i) Robotics Technology and (ii) Energy (including Alternate Energy Sources) Technology. Both the parties have agreed on the execution of funded research projects, exchange information on Research Programmes, organization of short-term continuing education programs, seminars, conferences, or workshops on topics of mutual interest and to invite each other's faculty/research staff/engineers/students to participate therein. It also includes the  usage of the laboratories/ facilities by the both the parties and Internships for the UG and PG students of UPES at laboratories and facilities of L&T.
